Grafik Jan Vičar (1967) zaujímá na české výtvarné scéně poměrně zvláštní postavení. Má klasické akademické školení, ale není mu cizí senzibilita lidového umělce. Vychází z tradic kraje svého zrodu, ale včleňuje do svých prací inspirace z jiných zemí a kultur. Čas od času přednáší na odborných vysokých školách, ale vedl i grafické kurzy ve věznici nebo psychiatrickém ústavu.

Jan Vičar (*1967) - is a Czech graphic artist who occupies a specific position in the Czech art scene. He has had a classical academic education but he is also influenced by the regional ethnic art forms. His roots are from the traditions of his native region but he also incorporates various inspirations that he acquired from his visits to other countries and cultures. Now and then, Jan gives lectures at specific universities and he was also in charge of graphic courses in prison and mental hospital.
